"To sum up - The Berkeley is a happy place to live. I am very grateful for the wonderful friends and staff I've met here and all I have learned as well to cope as I age in life!"

"The Berkeley Halifax has been my home for 3 years. I love it! The staff and food are excellent, my apartment is spacious, my privacy is respected. The building, gardens, and neighborhood are charming. I count myself lucky to be here, and have got a lot of brain work done."
John F. (Resident)
"I came from Ontario to The Berkeley Halifax 2 ½ years ago, after the devastating loss of my husband, to be near my family where I grew up. My husband and I had only been married 9 months. Gloria and Gail were instrumental in smoothing my transition and made me feel like I was home and connected with others at The Berkeley. Soon I felt like I was part of The Berkeley family. I love my comfortable apartment and friends. Marion and Kay who manage the entry desk truly go beyond their duties to help and guide us. Darlene, Christine and Emma are outstanding nurses. Also, in dining, Chef Al and Server Casey are extraordinary. When Lynda, the Activities Director, came, a whole new dimension opened for me. She is one of the most insightful and talented persons I’ve met. For example, she helped me incorporate my post-surgery shoulder exercises into our general exercises. Soon I felt stronger and more able to use my arm and regain my balance. Lynda’s activities are wonderful. She listens to us and makes it possible to attend movies, wine-tasting, the parks in Halifax, lunches out and, a highlight for me, was our trip to the Nova Scotia Tattoo. Lynda makes sure each person is assisted and comfortable. She is attentive during each activity and outing. I feel safe. She is a wonderful asset to The Berkeley. Her kindness, humour and laughter brighten our day."
